Travel Peace of Mind: A Response to the Thomas Cook Situation
Regardless of passport country, travelers want to know that their trips will go according to plan. All travelers want peace of mind that their flights, hotel accommodations, activities, excursions, and other plans are secured. With news of Thomas Cook’s bankruptcy, we want to assure our customers that they will never be left to fend on their own for services booked with our travel agency.
Thomas Cook: The Man
Over the weekend, there was much coverage by the media about UK tour operator Thomas Cook. Thomas Cook, a British cabinet maker and businessman is attritubted as the founder of modern tourism. He did not set out to create a travel company. Cook simply convinced a train company to undertake a special trip to carry passengers to a conference within England. One thing led to another and the initial railway journey evolved into package tours. From 1841 until 1928, the tour operator remained in the Cook family. In total, Thomas Cook as a travel company operated for 178 years and employed over 20,000 people.

Thomas Cook: The Travel Company
We at Mosaic North Africa are surprised and saddened by the sudden collapse of Thomas Cook. News the British package holiday seller and airline company went defunct came on Sunday. The company was in too much debt and was not able to secure any further loans to continue operating. Our North Africa office is located in Tunisia, where we also heard of a hotel preventing Thomas Cook customers from leaving. When we returned to our office after the weekend, we read that the iconic tour company had left hundreds of thousands of travelers around the world wondering what will happen with their holiday bookings.
Can This Happen to My Holiday?
Whether you travel with Tunisia Tours, our parent company Mosaic North Africa, or any other vendor, the feeling of uncertainty can creep in. Those who choose to travel with us are unlikely to experience a similar situation as travelers with Thomas Cook. We want to highlight the three main reasons why this is.

Representatives Who Live in Tunisia
This is the most important reason why you can rest assured when you travel with us. Some of our team lives in Tunisia who are ongoing learners of the local culture and language over the years we have lived here. More importantly, we have built the right relationships to insure your visit goes according to plan.
First-Hand Experience with Hotels
Because we live in Tunisia, our team has extensively researched the accommodations we sell. We have visited the vast majority of hotels included in our tour itineraries. We have even stayed at many of them ourselves. But, the most important detail regarding our hand-picked hotels is that we have trusted relationships with our local tour partner.
Focus On In-Country Travel
One of our strengths as a travel company is our focus on the in-country experience. We allow customers to choose their own airline and route of travel to arrive to Tunisia. Our hand-selected Tunisian English-speaking tour guides and private drivers are ready to offer their knowledge and expertise to provide the very best private and custom tour experience for you.
