Tunis – Arrival
Upon arrival at Carthage International Airport, you will be met by your private driver / guide and taken to your hotel for check-in. Depending on your time of arrival, you will begin with a tour of the old medina (ancient city) of Tunis. From the charming architecture to the picturesque souks (markets), the ancient medina is well worth a visit.

Bardo Museum / Carthage / Sidi Bou Said

After breakfast, you will set out to visit the Bardo National Museum. The Bardo Museum contains some of the most complete and ancient Roman Mosaics in the entire world. From the museum, you will head off to explore the famous ruins of Carthage. Your guide will take you to the Phoenician Cemetery, Antonin’s Bath, Punic Harbors, the Carthage Museum and more. Depending on your time, you may want to take a drive up to the beautiful Sidi Bou Said, which overlooks the Gulf of Tunis.

Dougga / Bulla Regia / El Kef
After breakfast, you will move on to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Dougga. Some people have called Dougga one of Tunisia’s best Roman historical sites. From here, you will head off to explore Bulla Regia! This archaeological site has a wonderful display of Roman mosaics and semi-underground housing. Continue to El Kef for night.

El Kef / Makthar / Kairouan

After breakfast, you will set off to explore the Roman site of Makthar. Scattered with temples, arches, and amphitheaters, Makthar allows for a glimpse into Roman life. Next, you will head off to Sbeitla, another of Tunisia’s ancient Roman sites. Continue to the spiritual capital of Tunisia, Kairouan.

Kairouan / Mides / Tamerza / Chebika / Tozeur
After an early breakfast, you will want to visit the amazing mosque of Sidi Okba, ancient medina, and the Aghlabid pool. After your time exploring this historic city, you will start your journey into the desert region. Your first stop will be the famous mountain oasis town of Tamerza. You will also visit the impressive gorge and canyon of Mides and Chebika.

Tozeur / Ong Jemel / Sahara

After breakfast you will have the morning to explore the southern city of Tozeur. Whether it is a tour through the oasis where some of the most succulent dates in the world are grown, or just exploring the city with its unique architecture…Tozeur will surely captivate you with its Saharan charm. After lunch you will hop into 4 X 4 Land Cruiser and head out into the desert region for an afternoon tour.

Tozeur / Douz / Matmata
After breakfast you drive across the beautiful salt flats of Tunisia and on to Douz, the ‘gateway to the Sahara’. Explore the market, museum, and Tunisia’s largest palmery. You may be interested in a 1 hour camel excursion in the Sahara. Continue to Matmata where you will be spending the night in one of the troglodyte dwellings. In fact, at one time there were over 800 homes underground in Matmata. If you are a Star Wars fan, you will especially like this town.

El Jem Coliseum / Mahdia / Monastir / Sousse

After an early breakfast, you will want to visit the amazing mosque of Sidi Okba, ancient medina, and the Aghlabid pool. Continue to the magnificent coliseum of El Jem. Perhaps Tunisia’s most spectacular site, El Jem is a must-see. Stop for a minute to imagine life in the gladiator times while discovering the history of El Jem. Afterward, you will travel alongside the beautiful Mediterranean coastline, passing by the coastal cities of Mahdia and Monastir. If time permits, you may visit the Bourguiba Mausoleum, a monumental grave of former president Habib Bourguiba, the father of Tunisian independence. Your final destination is the coastal city of Sousse.

Sousse – free time or day excursion
After breakfast you will explore Sousse, which was founded in 800 BC, so there is plenty of history to been seen in this ancient city. The Great Mosque, Kasbah and the archeological museum all tell a story of Sousse’s ancient past. You can spend the afternoon shopping in the medina or return to your beach resort to relax or for a swim in the Mediterranean Sea.

Nabeul / Kerkouane / Haouaria / Tunis

After a relaxed breakfast, you will head north through the Cap Bon peninsula. Your trip will take you through the coastal town of Nabeul which is Tunisia’s pottery capital. Next, you will visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Kerkouane which boasts some of the best-preserved ruins of the Punic era. Haouaria is situated at the tip of the peninsula and boasts a majestic coastline. The end of the day takes you back to Tunis.
