The Luxurious Side of Tunisia

For many people when you think of Tunisia, you imagine sand dunes and dusty villages. The fact of the matter is Tunisia has a luxurious side from top quality beach resorts, amazing shopping opportunities and fantastic towns and attractions.

Tunis Medina
Anyone looking for a shopping holiday in northern Africa should consider stopping at the Tunis Medina. The old town is complete with narrow passages, covered alley ways and the hustle and bustle of the traditional markets, known as souks.

The souks sell a host of luxurious items from gold to leather goods to perfumes. As you wander around the Medina you can soak up the spectacular architecture of the area, stop at Zitoune Mosque and visit the Museum of Islamic Art.

Sidi Bou Said
This is one of the most beautiful villages you will find in Tunisia. When you arrive you will think you have just stepped into a Greek oasis with all the buildings painted in white with bright blue window frames and doors. The village is set on a hill overlooking the spectacular marina below with picturesque views of the Mediterranean coastline. This area is popular for art and souvenir shops.

Bardo Museum
If you’re looking for a way to spend an afternoon away from the hustle and bustle of the city than visiting this museum will not disappoint. It is home to the best collection of Roman mosaics. You will also find a great selection of bronze sculptures giving you an opportunity to soak up the culture and history of Tunisia.

Beaches
Can you think of anything more luxurious than lying on a white sandy beach with the crystal blue waters of the Mediterranean Ocean lapping at the shore? Tunisia is home to a selection of superior beach resorts in Hammamet, Sousse and Djerba Island.
