Historical Experiences in Tunisia

Carthage
Carthage is one of the most visited historical sites in Tunisia. This city dates back to 814BC and was an important Roman city. Today you can explore the many ruins including the spectacular harbor area, Bursa Hill, the forum and the museum.
The villas gives you an idea of what it must have been like to live there all those centuries ago and the amphitheater is a magnificent structure.
The most interesting sight in Carthage is the Antonine Baths which were the largest in Northern Africa spanning 35,000 square meters.
Thurburbo Maius
This was a Roman city dating back to 27BC and offers some of the most well-preserved Roman ruins including beautiful temples, stunning houses and an impressive amphitheater. This area is a must to visit when you want to explore all the historical sites Tunisia has to offer.
El Djem
El Djem is another of the popular tourist attractions in Libya where you can soak up the history and culture of the past. This was an important Roman city only sixty kilometers from Sousse, this area was popular for its olive oil manufacture.
Today there is the amphitheater which is the largest in Northern Africa. Dating back to 230AD, this amphitheater is 148 meters long and stands 35 meters tall. It is believed the amphitheater could accommodate up to 30,000 spectators at any given time.
The museum is also a must to see when visiting El Djem. They have large exhibition rooms filled with mosaics and ceramics which have been excavated from the area offering you a complete historical experience in Tunisia.
