Four Must See Things in Tunisia

Tunisia is rich in natural beauty, cultural and historical sites and beautiful cities and towns. When holidaying in the area, there are some things that should just not be crossed off your to do list.

The Sahara Desert
The Sahara Desert is one of the top tourist destinations in Tunisia. The stretches of golden dunes and the quaint Berber villages are a highlight on any holidaymaker list. You can explore the desert on the back of the camel or in a 4×4 vehicle. Remember during the summer months it can get exceptionally hot, be sure to pack sun cream, a sun hat and keep plenty of water at hand.

Carthage
This is one of the top archaeological sites in the area where you can step back in time and explore the Roman ruins that still stand today. Take a walk around and get a sense of what it must have been like to live here all those centuries ago.

Before leaving Carthage be sure to stop past the museum, the museum is full of artefacts that have been excavated from the site including statues, mosaics and other traditional items.

Sidi Bou Said
When you arrive in this beautiful town you will be convinced that you have just arrived in the Greek oasis. The entire town is painted white and each property has bright blue windows and doors. The town sits on a hill offering panoramic views of the marina and sea. Set at one of the cafes, relax and to soak up the picturesque scenery.

Matmata
Any star wars enthusiast will be delighted when visiting this town. This is the town use as a film location for the famous movie. You can explore Luke Skywalker’s home which is now a hotel, but they have kept a large portion of the set in place.
