The trip went like clockwork and we had a GREAT time.
Highlights – Lots to choose from but Dougga was pretty amazing, El Jem fantastic as expected and we had a day in Makthar when the flowers were in bloom that was magical. I have a lot of good pictures so if you have a particular theme you want, let me know and I’ll send a couple. Also loved walking through the medinas in Tunis, Kairouan and Sousse.
Ridha is a superb guide. I have been to 134 countries and had probably 50 different guides over the years. I would say he was one of the top 5. He was extremely knowledgeable about the history, explained things clearly in excellent English, was very friendly and accommodative, very professional, always anticipating needs and smoothing the path for us…I really don’t see how he could have been better.
Slim is an excellent driver. Again, I’ve had lots over the years and he was one of the best. Never a rush, no near misses, nice pace, always alert, always helpful with bags.
The service you gave was excellent from start to finish. Information packet as good as I’ve ever seen…and I’ve seen a lot.
Only constructive criticism was that the lodging/bed situation was really not right. We arrived at the first hotel (Dar El Gacem) and they had two rooms with one queen each—we really needed two beds in one of the rooms. They brought in a cot but it wasn’t really very comfortable.
I thought the food was quite good…the kids didn’t really care for it but they are not really adventurous eaters.
All in all, the above criticisms are minor and if I had travelled alone, I wouldn’t have had ANY complaints.
I would absolutely recommend Tunisia Tours—and Tunisia—to others
